ACE Group sees opportunity in the UK and Ireland with D&O coverage targeted to charities and non-profits; Liberty Mutual launched a new division focused on schools, municipalities and other public entities.
ACE Group is now selling a directors & officers coverage targeted to charities and not-for profit organizations in the UK and Ireland.
Dubbed ACE Elite Not For Profit, the insurance is a response, in part, to the UK Charities Bill, which is meant to tackle abuse at charities and impose more oversight on charities’ fundraising and management. With this law in place, ACE said that charity trustees and directors are more vulnerable to claims.
Policy provisions include: Separate limits of indemnity for individual trustees, the organization and employment practice liability, and policy limit pre-investigation and investigation cover for individuals

Liberty Mutual Insurance established a new division focused on school, municipalities and other public entities.
A former Ironshore executive – Susan Kostro, will help lead it.
Kostro’s title will be chief underwriting officer, Public Entity. She’ll be tasked with growing Liberty Mutual’s book of education and government risks, using a strategy of blending a broad set of products with dedicated underwriting, risk engineering and claims resources.
