The Latest Launches from RLI, Marsh and Everest Re Group

Bigger Better and Faster Product as a ConceptRLI Insurance Company, Marsh and Everest Re Group Ltd. all have new products this week:

RLI Insurance Company has begun offering jewelry insurance.

The online product will provide customized coverage of fine jewelry, diamond and engagement rings and watches against damage, theft and loss. Customers can sign up through www.rlijewelryinsurance.com, and the website will walk the user through types of jewelry to insure, coverages, the claims process and more.

In pursuing coverage through the special website, a user can obtain a quote, apply for coverage or manage an already-in-force policy. Coverage will be available in all 50 states.

Marsh launched a new excess casualty product designed to address product liability risks. Its Marsh IO+ occurrence-reported excess casualty form includes the “integrated occurrence” feature found in standard occurrence-reported forms. By doing so, insureds can batch claims into a single occurrence, with the idea that they can save significant retention costs.

The product also includes separate aggregate and un-aggregated auto liability limits, expanded pollution coverage, acceptance of standard umbrella submissions and automatic extended reporting coverage.

Marsh IO+ supports up to $300 million in limits excess of attachment points. The attachment point depends on risk profile, ranging from as low as $10 million to a projected average of $25 million.

Everest Re Group Ltd. said it is expanding its U.S. specialty insurance platform product portfolio in Everest National with the introduction of a new dedicated Inland Marine underwriting team. The plan for Everest National will involve a broad, comprehensive strategy focused on inland marine, with underwriting of both individual risks and also select inland marine programs.

Mike Warfield will lead this new unlit. Warfield, who has been with Everest since 2013, was previously overseeing the marketing, distribution and business development area for Everest National. Prior to joining Everest National, he was President of Colony Insurance Company
