Executives On The Move at QBE, PartnerRe, Aspen and Willis

We have promotions and appointments to tell you about at QBE North America, Aspen Insurance Holdings, PartnerRe and Willis Group Holdings:

QBE-InsuranceQBE North America is bringing on a veteran of Fireman’s Fund, Allstate and elsewhere to be its new VP of agriculture.

Glenn Skrynecki will manage QBE North America’s agriculture book of business, including underwriting, strategy and relationship management, policy development and risk mitigation.

Skrynecki spent 28 years at Fireman’s Fund in various leadership and executive roles, covering areas including loss control, risk management, underwriting and national distribution. He also worked on a team that helped integrate Fireman’s Fund into Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. Before Fireman’s Fund, Skrynecki developed his talents at Allstate and then W.R. Berkley.

Aspen Insurance Holdings hired David Cohen as the new president and chief underwriting officer of its Aspen Insurance division.

Cohen was most recently president of U.S. and global casualty chief underwriting officer at Liberty International Underwriters. He’ll be part of Aspen’s group executive team and report to Mario Vitale, CEO of Aspen’s insurance segment.

In his role as president, Cohen’s mission will be to work with Vitale to continue the development and launch of Aspen Insurance’s overall business strategy, with a goal of accelerating business growth.

Cohen’s chief underwriting officer role calls for him to oversee segment business plans and pricing models, support business development activity, and act as a referral authority for underwriting risks.

PartnerRe named a former AXIS executive as its new head of health.

Dan Bolgar most recently was CEO at AXIS Accident & Health Reinsurance. His new position takes effect on Nov. 16, and he’ll report to Martin Pestcoe, CEO of life & health at PartnerRe.

Bolgar, who will be based in Minneapolis, has more than 20 years of experience in the accident and health reinsurance sector. Before joining AXIS, he was a Willis Re executive vice president responsible for its global accident and health division.

Bolgar will be replacing Dennis Heinzig, head of health and president of PartnerRe America Insurance Co., who plans to retire in 2016.

While Heinzig is stepping down as head of health, he’ll remain as president of PartnerRe America Insurance Co. during the transition, reporting to Pestcoe.

Before PartnerRe, Heinzig was CEO of California-based Presidio Reinsurance Group, a U.S. specialty accident and health reinsurance and insurance writer that PartnerRe purchased in 2012.

Willis Group Holdings plc appointed John Baudouin as CEO of its Mexico retail business.Willis_logo_blue

Baudouin has more than 32 years of industry experience, most recently at Colemont Retail Brokers as CEO. He started his career at Asesores Kennedy Agente de Seguros, which was later part of Alexander & Alexander, a firm that subsequently became part of Aon Mexico. While at Aon, he was CEO for Aon Risk Solutions and then Aon Consulting.

Willis said that Baudouin will focus, in part, on driving the broker’s strategic vision for the region.
