The Allstate Corp. has named Mark Green as president of the Encompass insurance companies.

Green was previously president of Allstate Dealer Services and Ivantage Select Agency Inc. He will report to Don Civgin, Allstate’s president of Emerging Businesses.

“The Encompass business represents an important part of Allstate Corp.’s customer-focused strategy,” said Civgin. “Mark has the ability to lead large organizations and manage insurance risks while profitably growing the core business. This, along with his external experience working with insurance companies that market through independent agencies, will serve him well in his new role.”

Green has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Allstate in 2009 as assistant vice president in Allstate’s Capital Region and rose through the ranks to become senior vice president of National Sales for Allstate Financial. Prior to Allstate, Green was a founding equity partner and chief risk officer for AIX Group in Connecticut. He has also held executive positions for Acordia Inc., AIG, Chubb and Swiss Re.

With this change, Doug Frey, vice president and chief operating officer at Allstate Dealer Services, will serve as interim president of ADS. Bill Borst, vice president at Ivantage, will serve as interim president for Ivantage.
