GEICO promoted a veteran executive to one of its senior vice president positions.
George Rogers assumes the title as well as responsibility for GEICO’s operations in the Southeast and Midwest. As well, he’ll keep his existing duties as president of GEICO’s regional operations in Lakeland, Fla.
Rogers has been with GEICO since 1969 and has held a number of positions while rising through the ranks. From 1993 to 1996, for example, he served as assistant vice president of claims based in GEICO’s Macon, Ga., regional office. Rogers was promoted to vice president of GEICO claims and then became the company’s chief claims officer a year later. The long-time executive took on the role of leading GEICO’s Dallas, Texas, regional operations in 2000 before taking on the Lakeland executive position in 2002.

ACE Group named a new head for its business operations in North 
Africa.
Ghassan Wazen is currently regional business development manager for ACE in the Middle East/North Africa region, a position he has held since 2013. In his new job, Wazen will be tasked with overseeing the performance, future development and strategy of ACE’s North Africa operations. Two executives in the region will report to him: Ihab El Awady, country president for Egypt, and Kamal Kaabi, general manager for Tunisia.
Wazen, in turn will report to Mojgan Khoshabi, regional managing director for ACE in the Middle East/North Africa.
Ghassan joined ACE in France in 1986, where he held a number of positions in underwriting, claims and finance before becoming head of accident & health and personal lines for France in 2003. He moved to the Middle East/North Africa region in July 2007 where he was country president for ACE in Egypt and also regional manager for accident and health.
One of ACE’s growth focuses is to build its management capabilities within Eurasia and Africa.
