W.R. Berkley Corp. announced the formation of Berkley International Seguros Colombia S.A., which it said would sell construction all risk, surety, general liability, directors and officers liability, select classes of professional liability and cargo insurance.
Berkley Insurance Co. entered the Colombian reinsurance market by establishing a representative office in Bogotá in 2014.
Sylvia Luz Rincón has been named president and CEO of Berkley International Seguros Colombia. She has more than 20 years of experience in the property/casualty insurance market in Colombia. Jaime Alberto Aramburo, who has more than 20 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, leads the Bogotá office.

ACE Group appointed Peter van Ratingen as its new country president for its general insurance operation in the Philippines. Van Ratingen succeeds Daniel Daly, who will retire on July 31, 2015.
In his role as country president, van Ratingen will oversee the operations and business development activities of ACE’s key business lines in the Philippines namely, Property & Casualty, Accident & Health and Personal & Business Insurance. He is also responsible for the management of regulatory relationships, strategic partnerships and affinity relationships. He will report to Juan Luis Ortega, regional president for ACE’s general insurance operations in Asia Pacific.
Van Ratingen brings with him more than 20 years of industry across both Asia and Europe. He joined ACE in 2009 as country president for Indonesia. His most recent role was Asia Pacific’s regional head of Bancassurance. His career includes more than 13 years with CIGNA International.
