Scottsdale Insurance Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nationwide, announced Tuesday that Gary Tiepelman, SVP of contract and professional lines underwriting, will be retiring effective August 1.
Hired by founder Rollie Wiegers in 1982, Tiepelman helped grow Scottsdale Insurance into a $3 billion company, according to a statement from the insurer.
Scottsdale said that Executive Vice President Tom Clark will serve as the interim leader of contract and professional lines underwriting until a successor is named.
“Our commitment to our customers is unwavering. Gary leaves behind a huge footprint, and we intend to honor his legacy by building on his achievements,” said Scottsdale President Mike Miller.
