Beazley Grabs Former Hiscox Exec to Grow Miscellaneous Medical Business

April 29, 2015

Beazley Group brought on a former Hiscox executive to help expand its miscellaneous medical insurance capabilities.

Christopher Dunlavy will be based in Beazley’s Atlanta office. The miscellaneous medical team underwrites combinations of medial professional liability, general liability, products liability and errors & omissions coverages, on both a primary and excess basis.

Target clients for this division: healthcare staffing agencies, home health services, behavioral health services, clinical trial sponsors, tissue/blood banks, nutraceutical companies, organ procurement organizations, contract research organizations, correctional healthcare providers, medi-spas, occupational health services, dialysis clinics and ground/air ambulances.

Dunlavy was most recently at Hiscox USA, where he built and managed a substantial book of healthcare general and professional liability business, Beazley said in its announcement.

Separately, Jennifer Schoenthal is transferring from the Beazley Chicago office to Atlanta, according to the insurer. She’ll work with Dunlavy to expand Beazley’s book of miscellaneous medical business in the southeast U.S. region. Schoenthal is a two-year Beazley veteran who was previously an underwriter with a Lloyd’s coverholder writing medi-spa and other allied healthcare lines of business.
