HR Issues Can Overwhelm CEOs of Small, Midsize Businesses: Survey

CEOs of small and midsize businesses spend a significant amount of time dealing with human resources issues, according to a new survey from HR solutions provider TriNet.

Respondents to the company’s “CEO HR Pain Points Survey” said they spend an average of 46 percent of their time dealing with HR issues, including management of on-the-job employee safety, benefit compliance, hiring practices and workplace litigation.

Asked about their greatest HR worry, 33 percent of the CEOs surveyed cited documentation and workplace compliance, followed by litigation (25 percent) and hiring practices (18 percent).

The TriNet survey was conducted by eMedia and comprised 469 CEOs of small and midsize businesses from various industries including technology, biotech and financial services.
