October 7, 2013

Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced Monday that Graham Evans will be joining the company as executive vice president and head of International Insurance.

Evans, a 25-year veteran of the London market, is charged with building a new international insurance platform offering multi-line capabilities.

In a statement Jack Kuhn, chief executive officer of Global Insurance, said, “Graham has an excellent reputation for building start-up operations and a significant network of relationships, both of which will be critical as we develop Endurance`s presence in the London market.”

According to Endurance, Evans has a demonstrated track record for building and growing underwriting operations across Europe and Asia, most recently at AXIS Capital, where he served as president, Professional Lines.

In August, during a second-quarter conference call, Endurance Chairman and CEO John Charman listed the expansion of Endurance’s geographic reach, hinging on Evans’ arrival and his launch of a London-based specialty insurance business, as a near-term priority for the company. Charman, the former CEO of AXIS, joined Endurance in May of this year.

Prior to his tenure at AXIS, Evans held a number of underwriting and management positions including chief underwriting officer for European Financial Lines at CNA Europe Ltd., director of a start-up Lloyd`s operation, and manager of an international professional lines book at Chubb Insurance Company of Europe.

Evans will join Endurance on Nov. 7, 2013 and will be based in London.
