Levinson Leaves Argo to Join IFG Wholesale Insurance Group as New Group President

International Financial Group, Inc. announced Monday that Louis D. Levinson will be joining its Wholesale Insurance Group, IFGW, as its President after the expiration of a non-compete period relating to his prior employer, Argo Group.

In his role as IFGW President, Levinson will oversee underwriting, claims, product development, marketing and business development across IFG’s wholesale insurance operations.

He comes to IFGW with more than 20 years of relevant industry and leadership experience, most recently serving as the President of Argo Group’s Excess and Surplus Lines Division, which includes Colony Specialty and Argo Pro.

He has also served as Executive Vice President of Casualty at Ace/Westchester Specialty, and held senior positions with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

For IFGW, Levinson will be based in new offices to be located in the greater New York Area, which will also include space for new underwriting teams, the IFGW Legal Department and other insurance professionals.

Founded in 1985, International Financial Group’s IFGW is a privately held U.S. insurance group, providing property/ casualty insurance on both an excess and surplus Lines (non-admitted) basis and an admitted basis exclusively through wholesale producers, through affiliated insurers: The Burlington Insurance Company, First Financial Insurance Company, Alamance Insurance Company and Guilford Insurance Company.
