InsurTech Veruna said it has raised $6 million in Series A financing, with plans to use the money to propel expanded use of its Salesforce-based agency management platform.

The Boston-based startup claims its financing round included “participation from two prominent insurance carriers,” but it declined to disclose specific investors.

Veruna CEO Bob Scullin said in prepared remarks that the company now plans to focus on building brand awareness, driving new sales and expanding its operations.

Founded in 2015, Veruna offers a cloud-based agency management system built on Salesforce that targets independent agents. Product features include a full set of offerings that replaces existing legacy management systems and guides agencies on to a more modern platform. The company has focused the past 24 months on building out its system and refining its technology, it said.
